House Hold Effects

Duty free entry of household and personal effects is granted to importers taking up permanent residence in Turkey. A band-roll fee will be levied on TV, Hi-Fi and video equipment and is payable locally. Only one of each type of electrical equipment is allowed. Those going out under a work visa may import effects duty free under the condition that they will be re-exported, however after five years of stay the obligation to re-export is cancelled. Effects must arrive within 6 months after the owner's arrival. Returning Turkish citizens may import duty free providing they have been living outside Turkey for more than two years.

Required documentation for household goods only:

· Passport
· Permanent residence form or temporary residence permit and
work permit
· Guarantee documents to be provided by Turkish employer (if on
work visa)
· Packing list (completed by packing crew)
